Legendary martial arts stars Jackie Chan and Jet Li come together onscreen for the first time in this modern take on the classic Chinese tale of the Monkey King. After wandering into a pawn shop and discovering the Monkey King's fighting staff, an American teen is transported back to ancient China, where he joins an army of fierce warriors who have sworn to free their imprisoned king at all costs. In addition to appearing as the mythical Monkey King, Li assumes the role of the Silent Monk, and Chan appears as the drunken kung fu master Lu Yan. Legendary martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo Ping (Crouching TIger, Hidden Dragon; Kill Bill; The Matrix) presides over the fight sequences. Cinematography by Peter Pau (Crouching Tiger).
