The Mineral Point Opera House offered a combination of quality mainstream, indie and art films, interspersed with live local and national music, dance and theatrical presentations.
We are proud to be the home of the Shakerag Players and the Mineral Point Film Society.

 

The Mineral Point Opera House
will be closed temporariily while she undergoes
her second phase of restoration.

Thanks to grants and a number of generous donors, the theater will be updated with new mechanicals, including heating and air conditioning systems; a long-required sprinkler system; handsome, historically accurate seating; and exquisite interior painting by the original group from the theater's inception.

We hope you'll bear with us for the next few months.
We plan to post photos and progress reports as
the work continues, so check back now and then.
